Todd Boutin

Todd Boutin

Born: Trail, BC

Hot Toddy is his most common nickname, but there is also Tenacious Toddy, Taaaawwwwwwwddddd and T-Rock!

His start in music was very early,he was still in the womb. His mother, while pregnant with Todd, played piano in a Trail BC band called "The Navajos". His mother said that feeling Todd's rhythmic thumb slapping while in the womb, helped her to keep time at her gigs. Young Todd had rhythm. She was so proud. Out of the womb, in his early formative years, Todd played piano, trumpet, and stand-up bass. At 17, he started singing and playing electric bass in the popular Trail band "Loose Frets".

Todd came to Victoria in 1982. Soon after, he joined a band called "Driven Force". This was the dawn of "Toddy Copper", his new Metal Band Moniker.

In the rock n roll recession years of the 1980s, Todd cashed in his chiseled features, spiked hair and torn T-shirt and exchanged them for cowboy boots, a bolo tie and a tight embroidered dress shirt. Sad really, but "CrossRoads" was a working band. This gig paid the bills and then some.

Todd has played in so many different styles of bands, he can't recall them all. He spent 8 years working full time as a musician doing Lounge, Smaltz, Weddings, Bar Mitvahs and so much more, what a resume to slap on someone's desk. Oh ya, there was a lot of rock n roll in there!

Todd's life forever changed after meeting his lovely soulmate Dana in 2003 and tying the knot.  Having such a supportive wife and family plays a key role in Todd's success as a musician and is imperative to The Crawl's tight kinship.

Although his life is hectic with being a doting husband, an awesome step-father and successful business owner - of Capitol Plumbing Ltd. - Todd still remains dedicated to The Crawl and its extended family.

"I'm confident about The Crawl's potential and excited about what the future holds for all of us and our fans!"
